The Photographer
I am a professional landscape photographer, with a passion for the coastline and mountainous areas. I strive to create authentic images of nature that inspire and engage the viewer. I spent my early years photographing the iconic coastline of Cornwall and diverse landscape of Dartmoor. Based in the Southwest, I am well located to photograph some of the best parts of the UK landscape, including the Lake District, Snowdonia and Scotland. Over the years, I have explored lesser known locations in order to capture unique images, featuring breathtaking views in the most dramatic light.
I began my career as a graphic designer and have always had an affection for imagery. My transition to photography was, therefore, a natural one. I've held many roles in the photographic industry and maintain a strong portfolio in wedding and commercial photography. For further information about this aspect of my work, see my sister website: www.guyrichardsonphotography.com
My work has featured in the Landscape Photographer of the Year and Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards and can be found in their associated publications. In 2015, I was invited to present my images and time-lapse photography at the Natural History Museum, in conjunction with the Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards. I have exhibited my images and time-lapse photography at Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centre, following the success of 'Dartmoor Timelapse'. I write for a range of online blogs and deliver talks at camera clubs throughout the UK.
I specialise in time-lapse photography and have made a series of films, samples of which can be found here. Working with organisations such as Visit Britain and The Woodland Trust. I continue to take on commissions and assignments with my business partner Alex Nail.
