Cornish engine house on cliff overlooking the ocean

Towanroath

Cornwall, UK

Wheal Coates is a former tin mine situated on the north Cornish coast on the cliff tops between Porthtowan and St Agnes. At it's peak it employed over 130 people and the mine shafts go deep under the cliffs and the sea. The Towanroath Pumping Engine House is one of the best preserved examples left on the coast and is a popular destination for locals and tourists.
